About me

I First started building with logs in 2005 in Canada, where I first took a course in log home building. Here I found my passion and ability of how I was going to be able to build my own home ( A dream I have always had). After the course I quickly got myself a job in the industry working for various companies picking up the different skills and methods of the trade. After 3 1/2 years in Canada I then returned to New Zealand and continued log homes building and I am still going strong this day practicing my craft.
What I enjoy about log home building is that it is a craft built using my own two hands. Which is becoming harder to find these days as we move towards more a manufactured style of living.

I also have been studying Permaculture, a  design system that links the house with the land and surrounding system. I am a certified permaculture designer so feel free to ask me more about this style of living if you wish. My family and I are setting up a 5 acre system with ponds, animals and trees based on these systems. Including one of our current projects "The Rusher Log House"
